The SVP, Sales will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Pet Food Experts by developing strategies and initiatives to drive profitable revenue growth. This role will be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships, identifying new business expansion opportunities and ensuring customer and vendor satisfaction. The SVP, Sales will lead the sales and vendor development teams at Pet Food Experts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, with both vendors and customers, including expansion into new markets and customer segments.
  • Optimize and lead annual sales and operation planning process; including forecasting, budgeting and resource allocation
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with new and existing vendors to expand product offerings, while ensuring favorable terms, pricing and contracts
  • Partners with Marketing to develop integrated marketing and sales strategies to drive brand awareness in support of growth and customer engagement
  • Develop trade management and pricing strategies to maximize ROI on promotional activities, marketing initiatives and customer care/rewards programs
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, competitive threats and new sales opportunities within the pet food and distribution industries

Preferred Capabilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships with employees and stakeholders at all levels within Pet Food Experts.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a track record of inspiring and motivating teams.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and initiatives.
  • Passionate about fostering a positive work culture and creating an environment where employees can thrive and grow.
  • Proficiency in Hubspot, Tableau and Phocus a plus
  • Exceptional negotiation and customer relationship management skills

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 15 years of Sales leadership experience, with a deep understanding of inside/outside sales, forecasting, customer order management and vendor development
  • Experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, manufacturing or related industries.
