Person Directed Supports is a Human Service Agency that supports Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities. If you are looking to further your career within the human service field this could be the position for you!
JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
· Creates/promotes a culture centered on building self directed lives with the people we support.
· Demonstrated effective administration of assigned units; complies with established administrative policies and duties.
· Displays principles of good management and applies these principles in daily work performance.
· Assures staffing needs comply with the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP) guidelines and programmatic needs for all community homes and services.
· Coordinate allotted work schedule and assigned duties; effectively performs on-call duties.
· Abides by established policies and procedures of the agency, County, and State; offers direction and supervision for compliance for those under their direction.
· Makes independent decisions regarding program operations within his/her authority.
· Directly supervises Director of Community Homes and mid-level managers for their county office.
· Evaluates and appropriately acts in emergency situations, assisted as needed and reports to assigned supervisor.
· Notifies the Director of Risk Management in an accurate and timely manner of unusual incidents
· Notifies supervisor of any problems or changes in individual Person Centered Plans.
· Promotes a positive working relationship with all employees.
· Assists in the planning and development of the Person Centered Plan.
· Assures the individuals have comfortable, clean, orderly, and safe living environment.
· Assists in the planning and development of household budgets.
· Ensures all programs are always in compliance with their applicable licensing regulations.
· Reviews the individuals’ records and ensures that they are kept accurate and up to date.
· Maintains statistics, prepares, and submits reports as directed by their supervisor.
· Facilitate contacts with outside entities as directed by their supervisor.
· Ensures that programmatic and behavioral routines are followed as established; follows established procedures when making changes.
· Remains aware of behavioral and/or medical status of residents. Notifies the appropriate authorities.
· Participates in the training and evaluation of subordinates.
· Attend all individual related individual meetings.
· Attend supervisory meetings.
· Attend all staff meeting and ensure they are conducted monthly.
· Conduct staff meetings to include meeting notes and the agenda.
· Participates in required in-service training and professional growth activities.
· Provides direct support as needed.
· Provides counseling and assistance to individuals as needed.
· Handles individual or personnel grievances and reports or refers them to the Human Resource Department.
· Ensures individuals’ right to privacy.
· Responsible for ensuring the individuals are healthy and safe
· Cooperate with parents, service agencies, and administration regarding programs and habilitative planning.
· Serves as an invited guest to the Board of Directors
· Assists in establishing good public relations.
· Performs the duties and/or schedules of the Directors during vacations or absences.
· Conducts weekly supervision meetings with the operational personnel under their supervision.
· Completes other duties as assigned by Person Directed Supports, Inc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited College or University.
Four years experience working directly with persons with Intellectual/Developtmental Disabilities.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
