Under the general supervision of the Laboratory Manager, the medical technician performs all laboratory procedures in a prompt, accurate and reliable manner according to established hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Education
Associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution. Mathematical, computer, reasoning and language skills at the college level (2 years).
Licensure/Certification
Certification as medical laboratory technician is preferred. ASCP certification preferred. Must be current in CPR. Must provide copies of licensure/certification for personnel records including renewals.
Experience
Experience preferred but not required.
