Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team. The Accountant will be responsible for performing day-to-day accounting tasks, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Statement Reconciliations, preparing financial statements, and analyzing financial data. The Accountant will also assist with month end closing, and various projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, statement reconciliations, and preparing financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Develop an understanding of the accounts payable and receivable process for an insurance agency, and ultimately oversee those functions.
• Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Assist with month-end and year-end financial statement closings.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Prepare various weekly and monthly financial reports.
• Assist with financial budgeting and monitoring variances.
• Make recommendations to improve efficiencies in daily accounting tasks.
• Performing other general office duties as needed.

Experience:

• Strong Knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience with financial data entry and bookkeeping.
• Recent experience in Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Journal Entries, General Ledger, and Financial Statements.
• Proficiency in using Accounting Software and Microsoft Excel
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial statements.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
