Job Description: Primarily as Medical Receptionist /Insurance Verifier with potential cross-training as a Medical Secretary.
Secretary Duties: Answers multi-line phone system; schedules patient’s appointment; transfers calls; takes messages. Requests referrals and follows up with referrals received.
Confirms appointments for next day with patient. Check-out –and schedules next appointment. Checks and incorporates on-line appointments through Zoc-doc, DemandForce, gmail. Knowledge of insurance plan’s referral protocols. Knowledge with eligibility portals.
Medical Receptionist Front Desk (Check-In):
Welcomes & greets patients & visitors; informs patients of insurance/verification results.
Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating patient demographics.
Collects payment if applicable; records patient charges.
Scanning & Filing – separates batches into the designated categories. Scans the batch and names it.
Insurance Verifications:
Contact various insurance companies to confirm insurance coverage and benefits.
Updates patient accounts with corrected information.
Obtain authorizations as needed.
Qualifications:
2 years minimum of Front Desk and/or Check-Out
1 year minimum of medical insurance verifications/benefits
Requirements:
Travel to both clinics - Conroe, TX and The Woodlands, TX
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.00 - $18.00 per hour
