We are looking to add driven, highly motivated, experienced, and knowledgeable Virtualization Engineer who shares our values of motivation and integrity to our technical team. As our Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and evolving our virtualization platforms to support our current and future customers.

Systems Engineer Responsibilities

• Design, develop, document, maintain, and support Performive’s systems infrastructure
• Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
• Create control features to ensure systems effectively meet Performive’s operating standards
• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability
• Provide tier 2 and 3 support for customer issues
• Collaborate with a variety of people, such as clients, vendors, management, and information technology (IT) staff regarding the creation, maintenance, and support of systems and services
• Provide technical leadership for installation, configuration, and implementation of VMware and associated virtualization technologies.
• Work with both customers, executive, and customer leadership to research, analyze, and implement storage solutions to support customer business/mission goals and objectives
• Provide strong documentation while being able to communicate effectively internally and externally to optimize customer systems and processes
• Design and implement migration strategies for onboarding new customers and management of internal platforms.
• Ongoing education and re-certification in VMware and other virtualization technologies.

Requirements:

• 5 years supporting and maintaining multi-site VMware clusters
• Practical Experience with VMware vSphere 7 and prior versions (including multiple sites / clusters, host profiles, customizations, vMotion) deployment, configuration, and maintenance in complex, enterprise, environments.
• Practical Veeam 11 experience and prior versions (including managing multiple tenants) Veeam Cloud Connect and associated services
• Must be able to take direction and work well in a team environment to achieve common goals.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong Customer service focus

Additional Experience Recommended:

• VMware Horizon Experience (H-DaaS experience a plus)
• Experience as a technical lead in Storage and Virtualization implementation projects.
• Strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment and decision-making skills.
• NSX-V / NSX-T knowledge preferable
• Storage Area Networks as well as VSAN and iSCSI knowledge preferred
• Basic Networking Knowledge (VLANs, firewalls, load balancers, NAT, DNS, LANs/WANs)
• Any security experience is a plus
• Any service provider experience a plus
• Experience with hyper-converged infrastructure technologies

Desired Certifications:

• Veeam Certified Engineer (VMCE) or better
• VMWare Certified Professional DCV or better
• ITIL Certifications a plus
