Performance Systems Integration is Hiring a Project Manager Near Bothell, WA

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our team!

As a Project Manager, you will have the opportunity to use your skills and talents to lead a project tech team that strives for excellence in all they do, implement strategies that will drive solid project execution and be a part of creating over the top positive customer experiences that rarely exist in the execution of projects in the fire life safety industry.

The Project Manager’s focus is a balance of solid project execution with a positive customer and internal team experience while meeting project financial targets. This role reports to the Operations Manager. Successfully leading teams and influencing without authority is an expectation and for successful project results.

Pre-Execution Phase (Pre-Sales/Turnover)

  • Provide pre-proposal/bid support (i.e., site walks, proposal reviews, etc.) to system sales representative and for larger fire alarm service to ensure proposals mitigate risk of scope creep and cost overruns.
  • Coordinate project hand-off from system sales representative and lead project hand-off meeting with systems sales rep, CAD/design team, service & install coordinator, and the lead technician assigned to the project
  • Coordinate hand-off meetings with sales, design and field teams.

Kick-off / Design Phase

  • Communication with customer (Contractor/end-user) to present plan to execute the work
  • Lead kick-off call or meeting with customer and/or contractor to ensure coordination among all parties to successful project outcome
  • Work with service & project coordinator to set up job in software platform
  • Securing all required permits for a job fall under your responsibility. Work with project coordinator and design team to prepare and submit submittal packages and maintain a system for tracking and following up on required permits for each job that can be referenced in weekly job meetings.
  • Ensure that Parts/Warehouse is ordering the accurate parts (per design BOM) according to a timeline that makes sense for the job and that once they are received they are properly staged and ready for the techs

Execution and Closeout Phase

  • Work with Service & Install coordinators to schedule technicians
  • Maintain a job management system that keeps track of contract agreements, a clear scope of work, project timelines (like gant charts or otherwise), change orders and all associated back up for the project
  • Receive daily field reports from field technicians and monitor closely for any issues and/or scope creep
  • Manage change order process directly with customer/contractors to ensure any changes in scope are captured, accounted for and processed for funding
  • Upon project completion, lead a post-mortem wrap up with same team that you led the hand-off meeting to celebrate wins, determine takeaways and learnings for improvement
  • Lead weekly jobs meeting ensuring that all aspects of the jobs are moving forward according to plan and identifying operational issues that may need to addressed.
  • Participate in weekly design meetings to help ensure timeframes are being met
  • Participate in weekly monitoring meetings to help ensure timeframes and outcomes are being met
  • Work with Service & Install coordinator to prepare for mid-month (contractor) and end of month (customer) job billings
  • Technical support (ensure field team has the technical resource backup as needed)
  • Close Out Docs submitted per contract, Internal Close Out process completed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering, Project Management or related field, or equivalent work experience in the fire life safety industry
  • 2 years of project management and/or coordination with demonstrated ability to lead a team without minimal authority, towards achievement of a common goal. Additional experience with the sills, knowledge, and experience in fire life safety construction and service is a plus
  • NICET certification(s) in Fire Alarm is a plus, as well as Previous field experience as a fire tech
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer service mindset and high interpersonal savvy and approach-ability.
  • Proven ability to work in ERP software to track financials and run reports as needed to manage to KPIs.
  • Proven abilities to work with Office 365 suite, including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook, OneDrive and OneNote (Sharepoint creation/edit a plus)
  • Ability to multi-task, problem-solve, and adapt to change in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Self-motivated and strong desire to succeed with your team and with the company.
  • High level of emotional intelligence and empathetic attitude towards frustrated customers or members of the PSI team.
  • Demonstrate strong strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to travel with occasional off-site meeting and events
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with safe driving record
