Position Purpose:
  • The Project Specialist will assist in the timely and quality completion of assigned projects with or without direct supervision.
  • They will be responsible for assisting all aspects of the metal fabrication, woodworking, and shop projects.
  • This position must be flexible enough to work in multiple environments and in most weather conditions.
  • Fieldwork will be required.
  • This is a hands-on job.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assisting in all aspects of the shop’s projects.
  • Heavy equipment operation.
  • Mechanical and maintenance skills.
  • Property maintenance mowing, weed eating, trimming.
  • Project management/completion timelines.
  • Ability to pull and back trailer.
  • Perform general shop duties grinding, cutting, sawing, drilling, fastening, welding, surface prep, and paint finishing.
  • Basic carpentry skills.
  • Ability to accomplish objectives with minimal oversight.
  • Self-starter and guaranteed to work in multiple shop environments.
  • Accountable and reliable.
  • Lead the focus on Safety with improved safety performance.
  • Drive the development of high-performance work.
  • Assist in cattle ranch operation projects.
  • Assist in fish hatchery operation projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelors Degree or 5 years experience.
  • Vocational or technical training a plus.
  • At least one year of experience working in a shop related environment.
  • Metal fabrication, millwork, paint booth, and/or installation experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral or diagram form such as blueprints, schematics, and other manufacturing information.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to maintain a good attendance record.
  • Must be able to conform to deadlines.
  • Ability to work in metric and English units of measure.
  • Be able to communicate well with all members of the team.
  • Proficiency with computers and programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet.
Certifications:
  • Valid Driver’s License and Insurance.

Work Requirements:
  • Position involves prolonged sitting, standing, stooping, or bending, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50 plus pounds on a daily basis.
  • Work is generally performed in a shop environment with varying levels of lighting, air quality, noise, and / or temperature.
