Tooling Technician

Peoplelink Staffing Solutions in partnership with the #1 aluminum knuckle manufacturer in the world, located in Auburn, Indiana, is looking for a Tooling Technician To build and repair all types, sizes, and shapes of jigs, fixtures, tools, gauges, and dies.

Assemble and try out complete tools and dies, trouble shoot tooling for repairs and modifications.

$2 1 .00 / Hour Depending on Experience

1st Shift - 6 : 30 am - 2 : 30 pm

2nd shift - 2 : 30 pm - 10 : 30 pm

3rd Shift - 10 : 30 pm - 6 : 30 am

Tooling Technician Responsibilities :

• Reads and interprets blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted.
• Welds parts as required.
• Determines specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gauging tools, performing required inspection before during and after machining.
• Performs hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools, and dies. Uses hand tools of the trade.
• Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same.
• Assists maintenance and set-up personnel in the repair and maintenance of tooling and equipment.
• Repair variety of dies and cavities meeting accuracy requirements determining techniques and making decisions on metals, allowances, mechanism detail, fit and assembly.

Tool Tech nician Requirements :

• High School Diploma or Equivalency
• Minimum 3 years of experience in the tooling trade.
• Some technical training, including basic blueprint reading, shop math.
