Permanent qualifications: Candidates must currently be a permanent Program Aide
OR be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list
Transfer qualifications: Candidates must be eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.
Provisional qualifications: Candidates must be a qualified employee of New York State and have had three months of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a G-5 or higher clerical, secretarial, keyboarding or paraprofessional** title set in an office environment. Qualifying titles are available at: www.cs.ny.gov/examannouncements/announcements/00340titles.cfm.† Only the title(s) listed is qualifying for this examination(s).
**Only paraprofessional titles in an office environment will be considered qualifying. Service in a direct care title is not qualifying experience. Examples of non-qualifying titles are: Developmental Disabilities Secure Care Treatment Aide 1; Direct Support Assistant; Food Service Worker 1; Licensed Practical Nurse; Mental Health Therapy Aide; and Security Services Assistant.

Duties Description
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Program Aid will report to the Region 3 QM/TA Manager. The incumbent needs to be able to effectively communicate and interface with Regional Office staff, State Operations Staff, Voluntary Provider Agencies, and Families.
PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITES:
Duties include but are not limited to:
  • Develops, maintains, and updates database programs and methods of data analysis for agency programs.
  • Creates spreadsheets, tables, and charts; and drafts reports to document analyses as needed.
  • Monitors and evaluates data for deficiencies and assists in correcting problems.
  • Gathers, reviews, and evaluates information required by Central Office to conduct financial and program audits and unit reconciliation.
  • Assist with scheduling meetings and requesting and securing necessary documents
  • Assists in the preparation, review, evaluation, and analysis of a variety of reports and other documents specific to the assignment.
  • Liaisons with various agency program staff and other State, local, and federal agencies.
  • Collects, tabulates, analyzes data, draws conclusions, and makes appropriate recommendations
  • Assist with oversight and tracking of development staff and QM/TA time off and maintaining of managers calendar and meeting invites
  • Assist development team with meetings, outreach, and follow-up to agencies, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.
