Penny Lawns is Hiring a Hardscape/Landscape Architect Near Atlanta, GA

The successful candidate will work collaboratively in an interactive studio environment as well as in the field, throughout all phases of multiple projects. The ideal candidate for this position should have experience designing retainer walls, hardscapes, and basic landscape solutions for residential and commercial properties.

Requirements for our Landscape Sales & Design Specialist position:

  • 3 years or more of landscape experience
  • Proven track record of selling potential clients on services;
  • 1 years of personnel and project management experience;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of horticulture and landscape design and construction;
  • Basic knowledge of materials and labor costs;
  • Ability to create landscape designs that are visually appealing using sound industry solutions.
  • Experience with Jobber (preferred) and landscape design applications (required)
  • A clean driving record and valid driver’s license

Responsibilities of our Landscape Sales Specialist:

  • Conduct “Client Scheduled Design” visits; Create designs and proposals based on information compiled during client meeting.
  • Convert “Client Scheduled Design” to “Quotes”; listing all applicable material and labor top create quote; follow up with customer to convert quote to viable job.
  • Project Management; including but not limited to coordination with the Clients, design team, permitting jurisdiction and contractors.
  • Responsible for sound design (schematic, design development and construction level) of retainer walls and other hardscapes and landscape solutions.
  • Provide landscape architectural services in a variety of settings including residential, commercial, and government.
  • Design planters and outdoor spaces to be functional, safe and beautiful.
  • Assign projects to proper landscape crew(s); review finished projects for proper construction, adherence to design and adherence to deadline.
  • Answering landscape related questions and educating customers on landscape related products and services, including selling landscape enhancements;
  • Implementing strategies in order to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales goals

  • Stand for long periods of time

  • Great listening, presentation and closing skills
  • Ability to handle heavy phone work
  • Strong customer service & relationship building skills
  • A quick-thinking, problem-resolving attitude
  • The ability to thrive in a competitive, goal-driven environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)

  • Subject to outdoor weather conditions which may include extreme cold, extreme heat or wet conditions
  • Subject to exposure to animals and insects

NOTE: Candidates must submit a portfolio that accurately represents experience and understanding of the design process to include built projects photos, presentation graphics and other design materials that represent skill set.
