The Upward Bound Program is a federally funded TRIO grant by the U.S. Department of Education designed to provide fundamental support to first-generation high school students and/or from low-income families. Pennsylvania Western University TRIO Upward Bound (UB) Fayette Project is seeking a Program Advisor to provide assisted support to program participants in their precollege performance and in their pursuits for higher education attainment.The Program Advisor is responsible for academic, counseling, and advising services to aid participants to successful complete high school, enroll into college, and successful attain a post-secondary degree. A primary focus of this position is to recruit and retain program participants, develop rapport with target area school personnel and community stakeholders, instruct career readiness, and assist the program director to meet program objectives. The UB Program Advisor will follow internal university and U.S. Department of Education policies and regulations. Travel and summer work are required.
