Title: Middle School Teacher

Reports to: Principal

Job Summary:

The middle school teacher provides leadership and support in the following areas:

instruction, interventions, and social emotional learning.

Qualifications:

1. Valid Illinois State Board of Education Professional Educator’s License

a. Middle grades endorsements

2. Willingness to sponsor and/or participate in extra-curricular activities.

General Duties and Responsibilities:

• Instruct students in instruction, interventions, and social emotional learning using best practice strategies.
• Analyze student data to inform instructional goals.
• Plan and collaborate with teachers in the area of mathematics.
• Integrate technology into lessons.
• Confers with students, parents, and school personnel to resolve student problems.
• Communicates student progress with parents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Perform the physical tasks necessary to monitor, supervise and physically assist students throughout the school day during a variety of instructional activities. Must be able to function effectively in an active, loud environment. Must be able to adapt to changes in the work environment as circumstances require.

Middle School Spanish

Pennoyer School District 79 is seeking a middle school certified Spanish teacher to begin the 2024-2025 school year. This will be a new program at Pennoyer School. The Spanish teacher will be responsible for teaching the following:

School Year 2024-2025
6,7 & 8 grades Intro to Spanish

School Year 2025-2026
6 grade Intro to Spanish
7 & 8 grades First Semester (Half Year) of Spanish 1

School Year 2026-2027 and Beyond
6 grade Intro to Spanish
7 grade First Semester (Half Year) of Spanish 1
8 grade Second Semester (Half Year) of Spanish 1

Curriculum work that will be compensated, facilitated by the Curriculum Leadership Institute will take place prior to the start of the school year.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $53,000.00 - $63,349.00 per year
