SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Responsible for the repair, maintenance and upgrade of the facilities refrigerated equipment including process chillers, lab equipment, HVAC, refrigerators, freezers, growth chambers, walk-in boxes, and ice machines. Responsible for scheduling and performing preventive maintenance of assigned equipment. Responsible for performing duties in compliance with EPA regulations and departmental policies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Training in refrigeration and electronics required.

5 years job related experience in Residential or Industrial Refrigeration and mechanical trades required.

Industrial Refrigeration experience is preferred.

Vocation Technical school training in the refrigeration and electronics arena preferred.

Computer skills preferred. EPA Certification as a Universal Refrigerant Technician is required.

Must be able to braze, solder, cut, form and assemble a variety of materials; and disassemble, repair and or replace a variety of refrigerated equipment.

Verbal and written communications skills are essential.

Must be able to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals; and plan and layout of work.

Must be able to troubleshoot and repair electronics. Valid Driver's License required. Operation of tractors, forklifts, high lifts and other types of equipment preferred.

Must pass a written test and hands on skills demonstration with a score of 75% or greater.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to sit occasionally; stand & walk frequently.

Able to lift/carry 0-50 lbs frequently; 51-100 lbs occasionally.

Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-100 lbs occasionally.

Able to reach constantly; climb occasionally.

Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
