Job Title: Billing Services Representative
Department: PMC Penn Ctr for Primary Care
Entity: CPUP
Location: Penn Presbyterian Medical Center - 51 N 39th St
Hours: Full Time First Shift
Summary:
- This position is responsible for revenue related functions related to charge entry, and account resolution for Penn Medicine Internal Medicine Employee serves as in-house expert for billing and coding questions.
Responsibilities:
- Maintains up to date knowledge of insurance requirements pertinent to patient services and billing procedures.
- Understands how scheduling, appointment generation effects the charge process.
- Updates information in APM, including, but not limited to: demographic and insurance, referral and pre-auth information according to PMAH protocol.
- Understands insurance and registration information as it relates to various plans and benefits.
- Understands and works the follow-up work queue report in accordance with protocol.
- Proactively identifies and works charge review, claim and credit work queue within 48 hours.
- Posts charges/payments accurately and timely.
- Communicates front end issues which may be impacting the revenue process to the Director.
- Resolves all Claim and Charge edit work queues for Internal Medicine.
Education or Equivalent Experience:
- H.S. Diploma/GED AND 3 years Financial-Customer Service Field (Required)
- OR Associate of Arts or Science AND 0-1 years Financial-Customer Service
