We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler in Washington, MO.
Mon-Fri 730am-350pm
Pay can start up to $16.22
Summary : Works with a team to prepare and ship Clemco products by air, land and sea
DESCRIPTION OF WORK :
Builds crating for custom products using power tools, lumber and ingenuity
Operates a forklift
Designs rough carpentry work with guidance from experienced team members
Processes UPS / FedEx / DHL shipments
Loads and unloads trucks with the appropriate material handling equipment
Manages air and sea freight
Creates Bills of Lading to accurately route and bill outbound freight
Schedules the appropriate carriers for outbound LTL shipments to deliver product to customers in the expected timeframe at a reasonable cost
Packs and ships Clemco products (from small washers to huge blast rooms) to clients all over the world
Assembles boxes, creates various shipping containers to protect products and people from injury
Enters detailed data into computerized tracking systems
Collaborates with the Team to see that orders go out accurately and on time
Supports and fosters a safe environment where everyone goes home safely at the end of each shift
May attend seminars or other training to keep skills up to date
May work in other areas from time to time as assigned
Seeks out and implements continuous quality improvements
Actively participates in root cause analysis (Cause Chains), advanced problem solving (A3’s) and break-through improvements (Rapid Improvement Events) to support continuous improvement for the business?
SKILLS REQUIRED :
Requires moderate to heavy physical demand lifting a range of 5-75 pounds with appropriate assistance, tools and equipment
Stands continuously through the shift
Visual and mental acuity and attention to detail
Job is inside, but area is not climate controlled as semi-truck bay doors are open periodically throughout the day. Protective equipment such as hearing protection and safety glasses are required.
Prescription safety glasses are available at the employer’s expense.
Experience in operating a forklift may be required at some point
Demonstrates flexibility when asked to take on new things
