Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices PenFed Realty (PenFed Realty), a wholly owned subsidiary of PenFed Credit Union (PenFed), is hiring a (Hybrid) Systems Administrator II that will need to travel on an asynchronous, regular basis within the East and West Wichita areas. The position is associated with our West Wichita, Kansas office. The primary purpose of this position is to manage technology for multiple offices. This position will install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain workstations, servers, telecommunications, network systems, printers, and peripherals for PenFed affiliated offices. This work involves assisting in the design and development of various technologies such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Azure, voice systems, conference room solutions and local area networks. This role provides router and other network equipment maintenance and resolves problems associated with computers, equipment and networks. Along with planning and participating in technology projects, this position also supplements support by responding to inquiries and service requests on weekdays between 8:30 AM-5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high level technical support for Google Workspace Enterprise 
  • Perform Google Workspace security assessments, manage compliance, domains, groups, accounts, permissions, reporting, updates and mail flow.
  • Provide high level support for enterprise PC’s including reporting, deployment and configuration.
  • Provide high level support for telephone and fax systems.
  • Provide high level support to computer users in a variety of application software packages.
  • Troubleshoot cloud and premise-based networks, telecommunication systems, conference room collaboration technologies, and printing.
  • Perform installations, security vulnerability remediation, upgrades and troubleshooting of network, workstation, server and phone system hardware and software.
  • Perform installation and configuration of various LAN devices (e.g., routers, firewalls, switches, printers, scanners, wireless access points).
  • Discusses technical requirements with vendors and provides technical specifications.
  • Assist in the preparation of network systems specifications and technical documentation for network systems in coordination with business units and vendors.
  • Coordinate support and assist users in the use of a variety of hardware devices and software packages including the implementation of new devices and software, leveraging enterprise application management and imaging/deployment tools.
  • Troubleshoot workstation problems directly for employees and agents.
  • Ensure workstation configurations conform to corporate specifications and policies.
  • Keep abreast of current technology; developments in Google Workspace, end user computing technologies, network hardware and software products as they may apply to the enterprise.
  • Analyze, design, test, install, document, and maintain computer systems which have a moderate to high degree of complexity.
  • Develop reports and maintain established asset inventories.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to the company's problem management reporting systems.
  • Coordinate with other departments, such as Sales Solutions, Product & Development, Admin Services, to ensure their workstation and network requirements are met.
  • Perform technical analysis of new and existing offices and contribute to department wide process improvements and playbook knowledgebase.
  • Responsible for the procurement of goods and services to meet needs and budget.
  • Responsible for third party and vendor invoice GL/cost center designation and submittal.
  • Make educated, thoughtful, and agile decisions that could affect the entire organization.
Qualifications

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

  • Minimum of 5 -8 years’ experience providing IT Support is required.
  • Prior experience Administering Google Workspace is required.
  • Familiarity with Google GAM, GCPW, Device Management and Custom Settings is preferred.
  • Prior experience managing workstation deployments and computer imaging required.
  • Familiarity with KACE Systems Management & Deployment Appliances preferred.
  • Prior experience supporting business telephone systems is required.
  • Familiarity with 3CX, Avaya or comparable VOIP system preferred.
  • Excellent customer relations including verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Strong general knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 and later, and MAC OS a plus
  • Requires solid knowledge of personal computer software and hardware as well as knowledge of common personal computer software and peripherals.
  • Strong knowledge of installation, troubleshooting and maintenance as applicable to, Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Servers (2012 and later) required, some Linux preferred.
  • Solid understanding of network technologies, Ethernet, Gig-E, Fast Ethernet, Network Security Design, Firewall, Route filtering, wireless access points, DNS, VPN, LAN/WAN, Network Architecture, Database and OS Security, Anti-Virus, Active Directory, cloud-based Identity Access Management (IAM) routing/switching protocols/technology, and an in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP
  • Ability to manage a physical infrastructure - including cable termination, patching, and labeling – required, including running, terminating, and troubleshooting cable.
  • Ability to work and make decisions independently with minimum supervision, and possession of good organizational skills, strong research skills, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage rapidly changing priorities, as well as to successfully plan and coordinate projects across geographic areas and office.
  • Ability to work after-hours and being “on-call” to limit impact/exposure to internal and external customers.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Google Workspace Administrator, CompTIA, Microsoft, and Cisco certifications are preferred.
  • Ability to obtain 3CX Basic certification within the first three months.
  • Ability To complete the CloudSkills Google Workspace Administrator learning path within first six months.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid-remote position, most duties will be performed from a home office. Local travel as required for projects with mileage reimbursement provided. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise. Physical requirements may also include lifting ceiling tiles, climbing ladders, lifting, pulling, and squatting. The role is required to supplement technology support by participating in our support queue on weekdays 830AM-5PM. Rotational on-call scheduling for emergency support for nights\weekends is required.

Travel

<25% travel using a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement. Reliable transportation is required. Traveling/driving to customer locations and occasional overnight travel may be required.
