We believe strongly in an individual’s transparency and strong communication to enable the most effective and efficient path to team success. If you’re interested in building a new category of products that will help improve the lives of people globally and you love working in a cross-functional, collaborative, inspiring environment, please continue reading! We are seeking a Purchasing Manager who will be responsible for general materials management procurement and materials fulfillment processes at Pendulum.This role will implement a supplier & requisition strategy and process and assist in implementing our new ERP system (NetSuite). Purchasing materials using forecasting tools & data along with purchase requisitions, maintaining appropriate safety stock levels, utilization of data analytics and key user group interactions and input. Interface with vendors to track & monitor on-time delivery performance, developing and implementing automated replenishment schedules for critical chemicals, reagents and consumables. They will be responsible for development, mentoring, and training of warehouse staff in best in class Materials and Warehouse management practices, principles and philosophies, i.e. 5S’s, Kan-Ban, etc.. They will need to be able to work with cross functional teams to identify areas of opportunity to improve materials management and fulfillment programs supporting on-going operations. They will support the Supply Chain Management team with cost saving and vendor management issues as assigned. They will be accountable for inventory accuracy and proper materials handling and segregation in accordance to Pendulum policies and guidelines. The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years’ experience working in a materials and inventory control role in a Life Sciences, Biotech, or Pharmaceutical company. Essential Functions & Job Requirements:● Proficient in the fundamentals of Procurement● Proficient in the fundamentals of warehouse management● Understanding of the fundamentals of materials planning strategies from MRP Planning, Reorder Point Planning, Kan-Ban, Pull Systems, etc.● Shipping and Fulfillment expertise● Proficient with the use of ERP and warehouse management systems (Netsuite a plus)● Proficient in the use of Excel and database applications● Proficient in the use and understanding of Manufacturing Bills of Material● Proficient in the use of bar-coding technologies● Experience in raw materials & consumables purchasing & receiving● Experience managing manufacturing and lab equipment maintenance, support, and documentation programs● Basic understanding of contracts● Experience with regulated environments, i.e., cGMP, CLIA, etc.● Experience developing RFP’s and/or RFQ’s● 5 years directly related experience● 2 years experience managing warehouse staff and operations● Ability to read and understand manufacturing and laboratory procedures● Able to integrate and apply feedback in a professional manner● Ability and willingness to work as part of a team and to support the materials warehouse operations● Exceptional problem solving and analytical skills, ability to quickly identify challenges and clearly articulate creative, practical solutions even when dealing with a high degree of ambiguity.● Superior communication and excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and maintain highly effective and collaborative relationships.● Excellent negotiation skills● Ability to lift up to 50lbs Daily Responsibilities & Duties:● Direct Materials Procurement● Direct Materials Inventory Management● Inventory Cycle Count Program● New Part set-up and control● Expiration Date Management● Tagging & labeling incoming stock items and put-away● Managing item disposition per QC status● Stockroom Vendor management● Capital equipment receiving and disposition● Support new product launch and key research programs with purchasing and materials planning● Dual/second sourcing opportunity identification● Cost savings opportunity identification● Lab and manufacturing equipment maintenance management support● Drive process improvement in materials handling throughout the organization● Manage the purchases of materials using MRP planning tools, commercial forecasts along with appropriate safety stock levels to maintain uninterrupted supply of materials● Manage purchasing requisitions via on-line tools for all non-forecasted & non safety stock level items● Works with Finance (Accounting) to reconcile any Inventory or Purchase discrepancies● Manage and adjusts current safety stock inventory levels based on usage and business growth● Follows all standard operating procedures to ensure compliancePendulum's™ team is as diverse as a healthy microbiome.
