The Purchasing Agent requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail. The position requires knowledge of receiving, classifying, storing, distributing, and taking inventory of food & beverage, materials, supplies and equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Organizes storage room areas, and places labels on items.
- Assist departments in purchasing items as needed.
- Receives and inspects all incoming food and beverage items as well as all incoming mail, packages, and other items.
- Expedites the transfer and storage of all incoming items to appropriate storeroom, refrigerator/freezer, or department.
- Conducts regular inventory of food and beverage items to accurately count all items in stock.
- Labels, dates, and performs storage rotation of food items to avoid spoilage and control waste.
- Keeps storeroom and loading dock neat and clean.
- Assists in the maintenance of perpetual inventories.
- May prepare requisitions for stock replacement.
- Load and unload at the point of pick-up, delivery, or distribution when necessary.
- Pack, unpack, count, weigh, and measure materials, supplies and equipment upon receipt.
- Check materials received against invoices and notes breakage and discrepancies in quantity or quality.

- Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone
- Long hours sometimes required to include night, weekends, and holidays.
- Medium work - exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
