Project Manager- Planning, Public Sector Services - Frisco
The Project Manager will supervise multiple members of our Public Sector Services Team and participate in advanced, professional planning and design activities. The Project Manager will often lead and supervise project workflows and communication, as well as coordinate with the Planning Practice Lead for Public Sector Services. This position will support the Public Sector City Planning and Design practice by providing community planning, urban and landscape design, and graphic & technical production. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform and manage complex and sensitive professional planning and design projects, such as comprehensive plans, downtown master plans, mobility plans, code amendments, parks and recreation space design, programming, master plans, strategic plans, development review, advanced ordinance drafting, and character & plan view renderings Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws Provide overall management of division-related planning issues Advise various councils, boards, commissions, and elected/appointed officials on planning and design-related issues Serve as liaison and perform necessary functions in support of client city planning and development departments Evaluate and prepare reports on operations and activities, recommend improvements and modifications Participate in budget preparation and administration, monitor and control expenditures Create, administer, and supervise public outreach campaigns for planning and design efforts Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. SKILLS Creative and innovative problem solving and design skills Strong attention and ability to apply technical and design details Strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations Reading comprehension to understand complex technical and legal materials Excellent verbal, graphic, and written communication and presentation skills Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative, and ArcGIS Pro software; social media and website design and development Perform advanced mapping in GIS Create advanced graphics and layouts in Adobe Creative SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY This position has supervisory responsibilities. The Project Manager will mentor, train and assist junior level team members and oversee the completion of tasks and projects. The Project Manager will work with their team to develop knowledge and skills through experience and training. EXPERIENCE
Required Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in City Planning or closely related field 5-10 years of experience in the field of planning and design Minimum three years’ experience supervising others, or in a similar leadership role
Preferred Education and Experience Additional experience and work in the field of planning, design, and land development consulting
Master’s degree or equivalent in City Planning, Public Administration, or closely related field preferred AICP Certification
