SUMMARY

This position provides leadership and sets strategic direction for all sales throughout the Americas region. This Oversees the development of sales plans, promotional campaigns, distribution channels and expense budgets in order to attain adequate profit margins, achieve sales growth goals, and enhance the company’s position for customers in North and South America.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee all aspects of the growth and development of BioThermal market for the Americas, including initial research, special product requirements, strategic territory sales plans, tactical sales plans, coordinating product management and marketing resource support, distribution channels and expense budgets.
  • Coordinate with the Pelican Director of Sales – Asia and EMEA, to leverage all Pelican Country and/or Sales Managers and their teams in order to maximize the full potential of both teams as it relates to Pelican BioThermal.
  • Lead the development of the Pelican BioThermal distributor sales network in the Americas. Manage and support existing distributor relationships and identify, recruit, approve and enlist additional dealers as required.
  • Lead the direct BioThermal sales team in the Americas with setting agendas, action plans, facilitating and leading meetings, developing communication and recognition plans with partners, and developing appropriate presentation materials with relevant marketing and product management resources.
  • Develop and manage business development activities. Efforts will include contributing and coordinating, along with the V.P. of Sales, all product management and marketing activities such as promotional campaigns, advertising, pricing strategies and new product introduction plans.
  • Utilize Pipeline Management techniques to review sales potential (SFDC), manage lead flow, forecast sales revenue, manage customer relationships and evaluate issues/opportunities affecting sales. 
  • Provide in-depth analysis of current and anticipated business conditions/requirements affecting company products, customer requirements and product positioning for assigned markets, including, but not limited to, technology requirements, sales, pricing, and marketing/business practices of other competitors; develop appropriate short and long-range sales plans and revenue forecasts.
  • Work with Director of Marketing to identify, coordinate, and participate in relevant trade shows, conferences and any other relevant activities necessary to promote the company products in selected markets.
  • Develop and execute sales management processes to measure, track and analyze sales activity and progress.
  • Develop sales training and sales promotional activity to promote, define and implement strategies aimed at penetrating the marketplace and expanding current business.
  • Oversee the hiring, training and development of all sales positions within the Americas region, including, but not limited to, bi-annual performance evaluations, coaching, counseling, and other employee relations items.
  • Coordinate efforts with Services, Engineering and Operations to develop a distribution, manufacturing and service delivery strategy for the Americas region.
  • Actively support Pelican’s commitment to Quality and all quality objectives, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
  • Perform special projects and additional duties as assigned by the Vice President of Sales.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook, AWAIR and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field and 5 years of experience in managing and leading sales teams in a fast paced organization.
  • 5-10 years direct selling and sales management experience with technical products in BioThermal, pharmaceutical, biologics, logistics, cold chain and/or medical industries and evidence of superior performance within these markets. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and motivate a sales team.
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of sales concepts, practices and procedures and a high level of competency in the execution of a wide range of projects and deployment of best practices in a world class company.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and execute strategic plans across a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and ethical leadership with strong abilities in relationship management with customers, vendors and employees at all levels and in multi-national/multi-cultural environments.
  • Must have excellent analytical, math and organizational skills.
  • Must have excellent written, negotiation, presentation and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be proficient with Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and other appropriate software.
  • Actively supports and complies with Pelican BioThermal’s objectives, guidelines and commitment to Quality and Safety, with an emphasis on continual improvement.
  • Must be able to interact effectively and cooperatively with employees at all levels.
  • Must have the ability to complete assignments within the timeframe specified by the Manager.
  • Must be flexible regarding working hours. Must be able to work evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Ensures that staff is contributing at maximum potential through rigorous hiring practices and an emphasis on training and development initiatives, including coaching and counseling direct reports in their performance and professional development, with final authority for approving pay increases, hiring decisions and disciplinary actions.
  • Emphasizes ethical leadership and decision-making to protect Pelican BioThermal’s brand and reputation.
  • Establishes challenging, productive and achievable goals for direct reports; measure results by establishing checkpoints to track progress.
  • Must be able and willing to travel frequently to all necessary offices, service locations, and customer sites, both Americas and potentially worldwide.
