We are a long term residential facility for medically complex children. We are looking for a nurturing, energetic advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) to provide care for our population. This is an excellent opportunity to become proficient in a variety of your nursing skills with some amazing children.

Education Level: Must be an APRN graduating from an accredited school of nursing with a current registration with ASBN. Prefer two years of staff nursing experience. Comprehensive knowledge of general nursing to address patient care problems of a medically complex pediatric population. Knowledge of management roles and processes for dealing with disciplinary actions, as needed. Knowledge of literature and new developments in the nursing field. Competent nursing assessment skills.

General Description:

• Insure compliance with patient care policies and procedures
• Routinely check on the children for evaluation of physical and emotional status
• Assist with management of reported resident symptoms and evaluate of health status
• Attend interdisciplinary team meetings
• Assist with evaluating performances of nurses and direct care staff
• Write verbal and written warning to follow up on medication errors and other disciplinary actions, as needed.
• Rotating on-call schedule
• When on-call, assist with finding replacement staffing when nurse call-ins occur
• Ensure adequate supplies are available for the nursing department
• Complete prior authorizations/insurance referrals, as necessary
• Supervise direct care staff in aseptic techniques and infection control
• Complete other reports, as required
• Educate clinical staff on relevant nursing topics, as needed
