To work with the public, children and school personnel answering and routing questions and messages, and to aid the secretary in running an efficient and positive office

High school diploma / GED

Special Knowledge / Skills :

Ability to work with the public; ability to deal with children; the ability to work with interruptions; ability to make good judgments and decisions; confidentiality

Computer skills : word processing, spreadsheet, etc.

Organizational and mathematical skills

Bilingual preferred

E xperience :

Some experience working with school-aged children; possess public relations skills

E Q UIPMENT USED :

Multi-line phone system; standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals

Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress

P hysical Demands / Environmental Factors :

Prolonged sitting; occasional bending / stooping, pushing / pulling, and twisting

May work prolonged or irregular hours
