FACILITY LEAD

NOTE - THIS IS NOT A REMOTE ROLE.

The Facility Lead is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operation of Hertha Metal's R&D and pilot facility. This role involves managing various aspects of facility maintenance, security, space utilization, and equipment handling to ensure a safe and functional environment for Hertha Metals' operations. The Facility Lead collaborates with various teams, vendors, and stakeholders to maintain and improve the facility's physical infrastructure and operational processes. This is a hands-on role, candidates with forklift certification are preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Facility Maintenance and Repairs:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan to ensure all aspects of the facility are properly maintained, including HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, structural components, and landscaping.

  • Coordinate and oversee routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and disruptions to operations.

  • Manage relationships with contractors, vendors, and service providers for repair and maintenance services.

• Space Planning and Utilization:

  • Optimize the use of available space to meet the needs of occupants and ensure efficient space allocation.

  • Collaborate with various departments to plan and execute space reconfigurations, expansions, and relocations as necessary.

• Security and Safety: coordinate with the Lead Environmental Health and Safety team to maintain a safe and secure environment

• Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the facility budget, including expenses related to maintenance, repairs, renovations, and equipment.

  • Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising the quality of facility services.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Preferable experience as a handyman!

• Electrical and mechanical maintenance experience

• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or vocational training in facility management is a plus.

• Proven experience in a leadership role in facility management.

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

• Proficiency in troubleshooting and problem-solving.

• Knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
