Position Description:
Are you passionate about healthcare and looking for an opportunity to work closely with a specialized medical professional?
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our dynamic team and support our renowned Laryngologist. As a Medical Scribe, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate and efficient medical documentation, providing crucial assistance during patient encounters, and contributing to the overall success of our laryngology practice. This position will work in Lehi and Draper, Utah.
Responsibilities:
1. Documentation Assistance: Accurately and efficiently record patient medical histories, examination findings, test results, and treatment plans during laryngologist appointments.
2. Transcription and Charting: Transcribe and organize clinical notes, ensuring comprehensive and clear documentation in the patient's electronic health record (EHR) system.
3. Assist During Procedures: Support the laryngologist during diagnostic procedures, treatments, and surgeries, anticipating their needs and providing necessary medical instruments and supplies.
4. Patient Communication: Maintain professional and compassionate communication with patients, addressing any inquiries related to medical records, appointments, or follow-up care.
5. Data Management: Manage and update patient records, ensuring accuracy and adherence to data protection regulations.
6. Collaboration: Work closely with the laryngology team, including physicians, nurses, and administrative staff, to ensure seamless patient care and clinic operations.
7. Quality Assurance: Participate in regular chart audits and quality improvement initiatives to maintain high standards of medical documentation and patient care.
Qualifications:
1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Additional medical scribe training or certification is a plus.
2. Medical Knowledge: Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology. Knowledge of laryngology-specific terminology is an advantage.
3. Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail to ensure accurate and error-free documentation.
4. Technology Proficiency: Comfortable with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical software.
5. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as active listening abilities. Bi-lingual skills is a plus.
6. Professionalism: Ability to maintain confidentiality and exhibit professionalism when dealing with sensitive patient information and interactions.
