Job Summary:

The Development AP Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the Accounts Payable cycle for the development and Renovation entities, as well as assisting on the monthly reconciliation of bank accounts. The position requires proven analytical skills as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Duties and Functions:

  • Receive, review and post development and renovations invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval, and adherence to policy.
  • Coordinate annual 1099 reporting.
  • Request and maintain W9s.
  • Assist on monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Support timely expense billbacks/allocations between corporate and development entities.
  • Assist with the preparation and maintenance of construction loan draws for all ongoing development projects.
  • Develop positive working relationships with project managers, vendors, and department heads.
  • Maintain vendor records ensuring accurate addresses, payment terms, contacts, etc.
  • Prepare weekly bank deposits.
  • Support corporate accounting team by performing other duties and special assignments as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Customer service orientation that is reflected in responsiveness and timely follow up with company executives and team leads.
  • Exemplary communication (verbal and written), organization and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional project management skills. Effective in prioritizing work and following through on commitments.
  • High degree of initiative and ability to work effective in teams or independently.
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers. Collaborative approach with business partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to handle multiple job assignments at the same time.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting or related field.
  • High level of proficiency with financial accounting software such as QuickBooks, M3, etc.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in an accounts payable environment.
