Description

PeaceHealth is seeking a Patient Financial Services Support Specialist - Cash Posting (Hybrid) for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $17.06 – $25.58. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.

*This position will be a combination of on-site and remote work.*

Responsible for resolving outstanding credits, account research, pulling remittance info from payer websites, as well as support services to both Hospital and Medical Group patient financial billing, cash and revenue integrity departments.

Position Details:

  • Sorts and distributes all incoming faxes.
  • Reviews and sorts incoming mail to route to the correct lockbox or department.
  • Reviews remittance files received from the lockbox and prepared for cash posting.
  • Performs credit card cancelation and working with Process Specialist to enroll for electronic remittance.
  • Verifies W9 information for follow-up with payers
  • Coordinates and distributes lockbox correspondence to key stakeholders; ensuring timely remittance and follow-up.
  • Compiles and reconciles refund checks to associated support documents. Loads insurance refund request and dispute tracker information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What you bring:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting, banking, medical office, billing or insurance account follow-up capacity required.
  • Formal training or college coursework from a medical coding accredited school, specific to medical billing in lieu of experience may be considered.
  • Preferred: Medical terminology experience.
  • Preferred: Epic experience.
  • Preferred : Certified Revenue Cycle Representative
  • Preferred : Medical Billing Certificate or
  • Preferred : HealthStream Badge

Skills

  • Knowledge of insurance processes and billing guidelines regulations. (Preferred)
  • Proficient in Windows based PC applications (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). (Required)
  • Good verbal and written communication skills. (Required)
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills. (Required)
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects and display flexibility in a fast paced and changing work environment. (Required)
  • Ability to work with office equipment. (Required)
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal oversight, independently, as well as in a collaborative team setting (Required)

  • Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
