Career Welder

PDQ Staffing is currently recruiting for Career Welders. This is a temp to hire position. As a Welder , you’ll apply appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate, and repair parts of metal or other weldable materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics, and sketches using manual, automatic welding, and / or semi-automatic welding equipment.

Need expedites Flux-Core, MIG and Cutting Torch.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits together fabricated parts of metal according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches in preparation for welding.
• Tack-welds pieces together.
• Applies appropriate welding processes to join, surface, fabricate and repair parts of metal or other weld able materials according to layouts, work orders, blueprints, schematics and sketches using manual, automatic welding and / or semi-automatic welding equipment.
• May lay out and mark weld points on parts or sub-assemblies.
• May position pieces to be welded into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools.
• May inspect completed work for conformance to specifications.
• Observes all standard safety practices, maintains, and completes all required records.
• Must be willing to work an environment that can be hot / cold, dirty and dusty.
• Must be ok working 6 days a week 10 hours shifts including Saturdays.
• Must be clean-shaven always.
• Must be willing to wear required PPE, Welding hood and welding gloves
• May be involved in safety committees or initiatives.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• 2 years of welding experience
• Hand wells in all positions groove and fillet.
• Performs repairs to subassemblies for final product.
• Performs oxy-fuel welding and carbon arc welding.
• Conducts one or two NDE tests
