PCSI is Hiring a Housekeeping Supervisor, 3rd Shift - Augusta Military Medical Center, Ft. Belvoir Near Fort Belvoir, VA

PCSI is looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor on 3rd shift at Fort Belvoir! This role supports site leadership with supervising a staff of Environmental Services Technicians by directing employees on housekeeping assignments, arranging schedules, and providing leadership and training.

We are looking for someone with experience supervising and training employees and with strong communication skills. Experience with housekeeping and/or hospital environmental services is a plus!

This position is based on Fort Belvoir in Alexandria, VA and requires a public trust clearance. Typical hours for this position are Monday-Friday, 11:00pm-7:30am with rotating weekends. 2nd shift also available.

Benefits Include:

  • Base pay of $50,000-$55,000 depending upon experience.
  • Annual bonus of up to 6%.
  • 21 days of PTO per year, in addition to all federal holidays.

  • 401k plan with matching on contributions up to 6%.

What You'll Do as a Housekeeping Supervisor:

  • Inspect assigned areas for cleanliness and a complete quality control check list on a daily basis to ensure a 90% standard is consistently maintained.
  • Inspect all projects and follow-up when projects are completed. Make sure all employees are following established processes and procedures to ensure the highest quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure all employees are clocked in at the correct time and at their stations and working make sure that all areas are covered.
  • Encourage, guide, and mentor all employees’ personal and professional development. Assign tasks and work schedules to employees as needed.
  • Ensure employees comply with Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organization, Medicare, and city, state, and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • All requests and complaints are handled with a sense of urgency. All complaints will require a corrective action report as prescribed by PCSI’s Corrective Action Process.
  • Provide continual on-the-job training as required. Schedule employee re-training as required on new processes and procedures demand.
  • Maintain all supplies required to perform cleaning duties. Ensure supplies are available to the employees in order for them to complete their assigned tasks.
  • At the end of shift inventory supplies and make arrangements to correct deficiencies
  • Keep management informed of account status and customer satisfaction status.
  • Provide management with suggestions and ideas for improvements to the QMS, process and procedural changes that will continually improve PCSI’s on-going performance.
  • Ensure that all employees are up-dated on all changes to the QMS and its required processes and procedures.
  • Ensure all employees follow all facility safety policies and procedures.
  • Ensure everyone complies with all City, State, and Federal agencies.
  • Make all decisions based on safety first.
  • Read and fully understand the “Material Safety Data Sheets” (MSDS) for all chemicals and solutions used in our processes and procedures.
  • Maintain security in your area of responsibility.
  • Control the assignment of keys to all personnel. Maintain security of key assignments at all times.
  • Administer guidelines to protect facility personnel and their possessions.

What You'll Need to Be Successful:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Housekeeping/EVS experience is required, experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Minimum one years’ experience supervised by the Executive or Assistant Executive Housekeeper and/or Director or Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
  • Requires knowledge of PC functions and software.
  • Operation of windows applications, MS Word, MS Excel, and related applications.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to verbally relate to others.
  • Willingness to delegate to others when needed.
  • Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.
  • Ability to push objects up to 100 pounds, lift or carry objects weighting up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to bend the body downward and forward by bending at the knees.
  • Ability to ascend or descend Ladders and stairs.
  • Ability to tour facility approximately 90% of the time during working hours.
  • Ability to remain in sitting position for approximately one hour continuously.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass criminal, drug, and driving screening.
  • Possess valid driver’s license and maintain good driving record.
  • Ability to be exposed to various dirt, debris, and odors. Subject to hazards associated with working in a health care environment that may cause personal harm; diseases, cuts, bruises, burns, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  • May be required to work in aseptic areas and be exposed to various chemicals and infectious disease.
  • Ability to work any time or day of the week, including weekends and holidays.
  • If required, ability to obtain and maintain security clearance and base access to assigned site(s).
