We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Management Consultant to join our team. As a Consultant, you will play a critical role in supporting the Department of Transportation's Office of Financial Management (OFM) in implementing key initiatives including OFM's G-Invoicing system and improving Digital Accountability and Transparency Act (DATA Act) reporting processes. The consultant will work closely with the OFM team and partner organizations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, enhance transparency, and optimize financial management practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing the G-Invoicing system, including facilitating discussions, identifying challenges, and proposing solutions.
  • Assist with analyzing DATA Act audit findings and develop strategies to address identified deficiencies.
  • Assist in enhancing DATA Act reporting processes, including increasing reporting frequency, improving data quality, and implementing dashboard solutions for monitoring and resolving warnings.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of financial assistance award descriptions and subaward data to ensure compliance with OMB Memoranda and Circulars.
  • Support standardization efforts related to object class codes (OCCs) in accordance with OMB Circular A-11.
  • Assist with developing and delivering training sessions to DOT staff on financial management best practices, regulatory compliance, and system usage.
  • Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including providing regular updates on project status, risks, and mitigation strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or consulting roles, preferably within the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of federal financial management regulations, including the DATA Act, OMB Circulars, and Treasury requirements.
  • Experience implementing financial management systems or platforms, such as G-Invoicing, SAP, or Oracle Financials.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, reporting tools, and dashboard development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with project management methodologies and tools is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CGFM) are desirable but not required.

Pay Range

USD $100,000.00 - USD $120,000.00 /Yr.
