Job Description
  • Manage and maintain all tools and toolboxes assigned to the squadron Tool Room.
  • Ensure that all tools and toolboxes assigned to the work centers are maintained in accordance with established procedures and in compliance with the Tool Control plan.
  • Ensure that a worn or broken tool report is initiated for all worn or broken tools.
  • Ensure that all tools are marked in accordance with established procedures and in compliance with the Tool Control Plan.
  • Ensure that replacement tools are ordered, marked, and issued as required.
  • Assist the IMRL Manager in his duties to ensure that Squadron IMRL assets are maintained in an RFI status.
  • Assist the IMRL Manager to ensure that all NRFI IMRL assets are tagged correctly and forwarded to MALS-14 for repair in a timely manner.
  • Assist the IMRL Manager to ensure that all IMRL assets are forwarded to MALS-14 IMRL for required inspections and repairs as needed
  • Assist the IMRL Manager to ensure that required Wall to Wall inventories are conducted as required.
  • Assist the GSE personnel assigned to Tool Room in the checkout, maintenance, monitoring and the use of GSE, support equipment, and maintenance stands assigned to the squadron.
Job Requirements
  • Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • If a Veteran, must have earned an honorable discharge (preferred) but no less than a General discharge under Honorable conditions.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of squadron organization and functions and be able to communicate and interact effectively with others.
  • Must be able to prioritize the workload, maintain schedules, and effectively/efficiently complete all assigned projects.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license, obtain, and maintain base access.
  • Work Environment (ADA): May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flightline that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
