Job Description
  • Performs as a skilled Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) at VMGR-252 aboard MCAS Cherry Point with a diverse and knowledgeable background maintaining KC-130J aircraft systems and components for the Customer.
  • Assist the QA Chief, QAO, AMO, and Site Lead to resolve issues or concerns with maintenance practices within the maintenance department.
  • Conduct investigations for missing or broken tools, maintenance concerns, or maintenance malpractices when directed by the QAO or QA Chief.
  • Perform Work Center Audits as directed by the NAMP.
  • Monitor assigned programs as directed by the NAMP.
  • Conduct safety inspections within the maintenance department as required.
  • Complete required reports in the Joint Discrepancy Reporting System (JDRS) i.e.: PQDR’s, EI’s, HMR’s, EMR’s, TPDR’s.
  • Issue, monitor, and grade test within ASM for support equipment licensing and maintenance qualifications.
  • Document all maintenance performed utilizing the Optimized Organization Maintenance Activity (OOMA) system.
  • Screen component records for proper implementation of technical directives as required.
  • Obtain and maintain all required support equipment licenses to perform assigned maintenance task.
  • Inspects, maintains, repairs and services aircraft components including, but not limited to, airframes systems, electrical systems, engines, flight controls, fuel systems, landing gear, and mechanical components, and applies technical knowledge of aircraft systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and operation.
  • Apply professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturers manuals/specifications.
  • Perform other qualified duties as required and to assist other work centers as required which could include troubleshooting, repairing, servicing, and maintaining airframe, engine, hydraulic, pneumatic, flight control, and landing gear systems.
  • Perform inspections and duties as a Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) as required.
Job Requirements
  • Shall have the ability perform complex O-level maintenance actions.
  • Must possess a level of experience necessary to inspect and sign off work in all assigned aircraft systems.
  • Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent.
  • Obtain and maintain accesses to JDRS, NATEC, and Deck plate websites to complete required reports.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • If a Veteran, must have earned an honorable discharge (preferred) but no less than a General discharge under Honorable conditions.
  • Possess a good knowledge of squadron organization and functions and be able to communicate and interact effectively with others.
  • Must be able to prioritize workload to maintain schedules on assigned projects.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license, obtain, and maintain base access.
  • Work Environment (ADA): May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flightline that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
