Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directly responsible for making required entries in aircraft logbooks and records.
  • Must have completed the Logs and Records Configuration Management for Organizational and Intermediate Activities course (C-555-0059).
  • Screen all maintenance records and documents and make the required logbook and records entries.
  • Complete the Entries Required Signature blocks on the WO/MAF to certify appropriate logbook/records entries have been made or no entries are required.
  • Forward closed out records to Material Control to be matched with turn-in documents and the applicable component or equipment.
  • Initiate, maintain, close out, reinitiate and dispose of logbooks and records per the NAMP.
  • Monitor forced removal items, such as life-limited components, and keep Maintenance/Production Control informed of service life used and time/cycles remaining.
  • Comply with the direction for logbook and record entries specified in TDs.
  • Update logbooks and records with Naval Aircraft Flight Record (OPNAV 3710/4) (NAVFLIR) flight information (aircraft hours, engine hours, landings, etc.).
  • Review logbooks and records each month and submit inputs to the Monthly Maintenance Plan (MMP) for forced removal items, TD compliance requirements, compass calibration due dates, scheduled inspection requirements, and any other maintenance information required by local instructions.
  • Provide the contractor Site-Lead with various manpower production reports on a weekly and as needed basis.
  • Work with the Dowty representatives to ensure propeller AESRs/OMA logsets get updated after re-grease and overhaul in a timely manner.
Job Requirements

Qualifications

  • Maintenance Administration Logs and Records Clerk (MOS 6046) and associated school training.
  • Shall have the ability perform complex O-level Maintenance Administration actions.
  • Must possess a level of experience necessary to verify and sign off work in all assigned aircraft systems.
  • Familiarity with the Naval Aviation Maintenance Program (NAMP) or equivalent.
  • Be a U.S. citizen.
  • If a Veteran, must have earned an honorable discharge (preferred) but no less than a General discharge under Honorable conditions.
  • Possess a good working knowledge of squadron organization and functions and be able to communicate and interact effectively with others.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to prioritize the workload, maintain schedules, and effectively/efficiently complete all assigned projects.
  • Possess a valid state driver’s license, obtain, and maintain base access.
  • Work Environment (ADA): May be required to work in areas in the hangar and on the flightline that are noisy and dusty. May be exposed to moderate discomforts, such as heat, cold and wind. May be required to wear personal protective equipment, when applicable.
  • May be required to undergo a standard background check along with verification of education requirements.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Employees must possess the ability to work in an office environment.

If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
