Job Description

The FOD Officer will contribute as a team lead and member of a maintenance and operator service group in support of F-35 FOD Mitigation. The work is located at the Naval Air Station JRB in Fort Worth, TX.
  • Maintain and service mechanical equipment, machinery, and components for Foreign Object Debris (FOD) removal
  • Perform skilled routine maintenance of the FOD removal equipment in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals and guidelines
  • Evaluate the need for repairs that are beyond the routine maintenance level
  • Identify parts needed for replacement under routine maintenance or repairs that are outside of the warranty
  • Work with PCIA management to get orders placed for replacement parts
  • Receive replacement parts
  • Perform minor repairs as needed
  • Complete all work in accordance with established safety procedures
  • Operate the FOD removal equipment on a schedule coordinated with the air station
  • Load and unload FOD equipment using a forklift
  • Ensure availability of necessary equipment required to tow and/or move FOD equipment
  • Operate the tow vehicles
  • Provide on-site familiarization training, as required, to ensure any new personnel know how to properly operate the FOD equipment and tow vehicles
  • Coordinate with OEMs and/or their designated local, authorized dealers on equipment to be repaired under warranty or major repairs outside the warranty period
  • Record failures in company database
  • Handle the packaging and shipment of FOD Removal equipment as it initially comes in, when it needs to go out for warranty or major repair, and receipt after return following repair
  • Maintain a current list of all FOD removal equipment under company possession at all times
Job Requirements
  • Must be able to obtain a security clearance
  • Associate degree (preferred)
  • At least 3-5 years of experience
  • Forklift operator certified (preferred)
  • Mechanical and electrical equipment experience
  • Specific experience working with USMC’s support equipment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described herein are representative of those which may need to be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. If required, employees must be able to operate a motor vehicle which may require sitting for prolonged periods of time to visit other company sites. Must have hearing and speech to communicate in person, before groups, and over the telephone. Standing in work areas and walking between work areas may be required. This position may require an employee to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance, reach, push, and pull. The employee may also be required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. This position requires normal physical functions. Work may require frequent bending and reaching. May frequently lift and carry items weighing up to twenty pounds and occasionally lift heavier items with the assistance of other workers. While performing the duties of this job, the employees are regularly required to sit, use their hands and fingers to type, and talk or hear.
