Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and skilled individual to join our team as a Shipping Lead. This position plays a crucial role in overseeing the shipping process and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products. The Shipping Lead will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the activities of the shipping department, managing inventory, and maintaining shipping records. The ideal candidate will possess excellent leadership skills, a strong attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the shipping department
• Assign tasks to shipping team members and ensure workload distribution is balanced
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with other departments to ensure availability of products for shipment
• Conduct quality control checks of outgoing shipments to ensure accuracy and adherence to customer requirements
• Collaborate with carriers, freight forwarders, and suppliers to schedule and track shipments
• Ensure all shipping and receiving processes comply with relevant regulations and guidelines
• Maintain accurate shipping records, including tracking information, delivery confirmations, and invoices
• Train and mentor shipping department employees, and provide ongoing guidance and support
• Identify areas for process improvement and implement appropriate solutions to enhance efficiency in shipping operations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate the resolution of any shipping-related issues or delays

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics or a related field is a plus
• Proven experience in shipping, logistics, or a similar role, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory position
• Strong understanding of shipping procedures, regulations, and best practices
• Proficient in using shipping software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, carriers, and customers
• Ability to lead and motivate a team, and foster a positive and collaborative work environment
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically to resolve shipping-related issues
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in shipping and warehouse environments
