Dining Room Manager

Reports to: Clubhouse Manager

Supervises: Servers and Bartenders

Schedule: 35-55 hours depending on month/season

Job Summary: The Dining Room Manager takes pride in ensuring the highest level of service to members and guests in the Club’s dining areas. He or she assures a high standard of appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness of dining room; supervises and trains dining room staff; manages within budgetary restraints; develops/implements programs to increase sales with repeat business and higher check averages. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

Job Responsibilities

• Schedules staff and plans room set up based on guest counts and member needs
• Becomes proficient with POS system, and updates pricing, inputs specials etc.
• Takes reservations by phone, email, etc.
• Greets and seats members and guests
• Supervises staff to assure proper service, food and drink delivery
• Responsible for training and supervising all dining room staff
• Receives and handles complaints concerning food, beverage and service
• Serves as liaison between dining room and kitchen
• Assures the correct appearance, cleanliness and proper set up of dining room
• Leads pre and post meal meetings with dining room staff, relays information and policy changes
• Assures that all pre and post shift side work is completed, and equipment is cleaned
• Reviews server checks at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy
• Acts as closing manager when necessary and assures that all club areas are secured at the end of the day, and the building is properly alarmed

Education and/or Experience Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A four-year college degree in Hospitality is preferred.
• One years of dining room supervisory experience in private club preferred.
