Organization Description
PAVE Academy Charter School is a public charter school in Red Hook, Brooklyn, NY. PAVE provides a K-8 experience that lays the foundation for a productive and choice-filled life. We build our students brick by brick, equipping them with the academic, social, and emotional skills that they need to become critical thinkers, problem solvers, overcomers and leaders in their communities.
PAVE educates 490 Kindergarten – 8th-grade scholars each school year. Across our student population, 82 percent of our students are eligible for the Free and Reduced Lunch Program (FRLP); 17 percent receive special education services, and 10 percent are English Language Learners (ELL).
Enrichment Specialists work directly with an assigned group of approximately 20 students, to provide an innovative, enriching, engaging, safe, well-supervised afterschool program topic that is hands-on and project based. The Enrichment Program Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing lessons in their field of expertise and craft that meet PAVE Academy requirements for elementary or middle school aged students. Specialists are responsible for preparing students for a capstone project which will be presented to parents every semester. Enrichment Specialists are expected to support student learning with a growth mindset, establishing a positive relationship with students and use responsive classroom management. Specialists are responsible for preparing materials and requesting supplies. Mandatory PD will take place Sept. 11, 2023-Sept 15 3:30-6. The weekly schedule is Monday-Thursday Arrival time 3:30, Departure time 6:00pm and or Friday 12:30-3:30. Programming will launch Sept 15 and end June 7th.
