Pattison's Academy Charter School is Hiring a Behavior Specialist (FT) Near Charleston, SC

Behavior Specialist
Do you have an interest in building the model for educating children with multiple disabilities?
Pattison’s Academy is a Charter School serving children with multiple and severe disabilities in grades pre-K - 12. Our interdisciplinary model provides seamless education, medical and therapy services in the classroom environment, so our children have every opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.
Status: Full Time, Exempt.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and CCSD current state salary schedules.
Required Qualifications:
  • School Counseling, Social Work, or Board Certified Behavioral Analyst.
  • 3 years experience working in schools / districts.
  • Experience working with students with multiple disabilities.
  • Behavior related certifications (BCBA, ABA, ED, etc).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Functional Behavior Assessment / Behavior Intervention Plan development / implementation.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Ability to work with a team focused on student outcomes and assist with proactive team conversations around each child to put child at center of care/service plan.
  • Data Management.
  • Teacher/Team coaching and mentoring.
  • Direct student support to develop or make progress toward IEP and/or identified behavioral/SEL goal(s).
  • Facilitate Tier 1 behavior management including: classroom management to prevent behavior (visual schedules, communication, degree of activity in the classroom).
  • Facilitate Tier 2 behavior management: Individualized intervention approach, resources, supports and needs.
  • Develop data collection systems that measure/evaluate Tier 3 problem behavior.
  • Support development of FBA/BIP.
  • Support implementation of IEP/BIP/crisis plan through review of existing data and records.
  • Consultation with school teams to support problem solving (behavior intervention strategies).
  • Develop and provide professional development to various stakeholders (topics to include: classroom management, PBIS, behavior interventions, conducting FBA’s and developing BIP’s.
  • Collaboration and training with student behavior team regarding classroom behavior management.
