We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative ELL teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.

Summary description: To create a class environment conducive for learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for continuing education in accordance with each student’s ability; to establish/foster healthy relationships with parents and other staff members.

The ELL teacher is responsible for all aspects of English Second Language services and compliance. The ELL teacher must be knowledgeable with all laws pertaining to ESL services and federal civil rights issues.

Primary responsibilities:

Planning/Instruction/Assessments

• Conduct initial screenings and/or review files of potential English learners
• Send home appropriate letters to parents explaining EL status
• Plan and deliver instruction to identified students in the classroom or resource room, in a small group or 1-on-1 as needed to help students meet ELPA21 standards
• Provide time with each student based on the specifically designed services and learning goals as defined by ELPA21 standards.
• Review and be familiar with student MAP, OELPA OELPS data and any additional data provided to help ensure individual needs are met.
• Assist classroom teachers in meeting the needs of the students both in instruction and in accommodations.
• Collaborative planning, instructing, and assessing of core subjects with the co-teacher to provide appropriate learning experiences for students
• Develop an educational learning plan to meet the needs of the identified students. Complete all files, forms and assessments in compliance with the requirements from the Ohio Department of Education.
• Assist with designing, providing and monitoring interventions for struggling students no longer identified as ELL during the two year follow up period after exiting ELL
• Attend all meetings of students on the caseload.
• Provide Progress Reports quarterly to address student learning plans.
• Facilitate testing accommodations for state and district testing.
• Provide ELL summaries, preferred language, student learning plan and any additional information for inclusion in the google .doc shared with all staff.
• Ensure the proper implementation of material based upon students MAP results, OELPA scores and state standards.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all student instructional materials.
