We are seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to join our team as a Community School Health Nurse at DC Public Schools. Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive school health nursing services to school-age children, focusing on health promotion and disease prevention.
Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct health activities across assigned schools, including vision and hearing screenings, assessment of conditions, and referrals.
• Anticipate and respond to the needs of students, demonstrating collaborative and respectful behavior.
• Manage program activities, identifying opportunities for improvement and promoting positive change.
• Work effectively in a team, communicate constructively, and contribute to a positive work environment.
• Utilize critical thinking and sound judgment to make appropriate decisions in problem-solving situations.
• Manage own time efficiently, promote productivity, and seek cost-effective ways of conducting tasks.
• Evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of school health services through continuous assessment.

Education and Experience:

• Current knowledge and competency in school nursing practice.
• Ongoing participation in continuing education activities related to clinical knowledge, practice, and professional issues.
• Relevant qualifications and certifications in nursing.

Requirements:

• DC LPN
• American Heart Associate BLS (CPR and AED)
