Responsibilities:
- Greet and check-in patients, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using medical scheduling systems
- Collect and update patient information, including medical records, in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Assist healthcare providers with administrative tasks, such as preparing and organizing patient files
- Assist providers with patient charting as needed
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries, providing accurate information or directing calls to the appropriate personnel
- Process insurance claims and verify patient insurance coverage
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front desk area and waiting room
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a medical office is preferred
- Familiarity with medical records management and HIPAA regulations is preferred
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with patients and healthcare professionals effectively
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to ensure accurate documentation and scheduling
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and providing exceptional customer service
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and handle unexpected situations calmly and efficiently
- Microsoft knowledge, such as Word and Excel, is preferred
