Job Description

Job Description

We are seeking an Athletic Trainer within PCCC Athletics Department/Student Affairs Division on a part time basis.

Examples of Duties

  • Provide comprehensive medical coverage to student-athletes during scheduled playing season and seek appropriate consultation upon injury evaluation
  • Serves as an onsite physical health consultant for assigned teams during practices, competitions, and special events to ensure adequate treatment of injuries and appropriate response to emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Evaluates, provides treatment and rehabilitation, and documents athletic injuries in consultation with health care professionals in accordance with established practices, guidelines, and protocols
  • Report incident and injury related matters to the Athletic Director and Public Safety Office during tour of duty
  • Maintain files and coordinate athletic injury insurance claims while scheduling medical referrals for student athletes to determine their ability to practice and compete safely
  • Orders appropriate medical supplies and equipment within budget of Athletic Dept. to execute services
  • Perform related duties as assigned by Athletic Director and possess effective computer, oral and written communication skills.
  • Be of professional and of high ethical standards when representing the College

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education approved program. Higher degree preferred
  • NATA certification and maintenance of certification by NATA required plus CPR, AED, & First Aid Certification
  • Licensed Athletic Trainer validation by the Board of Medical Examiners
  • Minimum of two( 2) or more years of Athletic Training experience preferred
  • Available to work weekday evenings and Saturdays during home games

The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
