Passaic County Community College is Hiring an Accountant Near Paterson, NJ
We are seeking an Accountant who will report directly to the Controller. This person will be responsible for reviewing invoices from vendors, matching documents, processing checks, and preparing monthly account reconciliations.
This is a full-time, administrative position.
Example of Duties:
- Performs the day-to-day processing of accounts payable transactions using the finance management solution and other software.
- Process outgoing payments in compliance with financial practices and procedures in a timely manner.
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations which include accounts payable and fixed assets.
- Ensure tagging of all capital equipment.
- Prepare capital invoices for the controller's approval and distribution.
- Resolve all payables-related issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with accruals and year-end closing.
- Handle all sensitive information in a confidential manner.
- Perform all other duties as required to support the accounting department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required in Business, Accounting or related field
- At least two years of Accounting or Accounts Payable experience is required.
- Work experience in higher education is preferred.
The completion of a background check will be required for the selected candidate.
