Partnership HealthPlan of California is Hiring an IT Quality Assurance Analyst Near Fairfield, CA

Overview:

The IT Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst is primarily responsible for testing all IT applications that are either built in-house or the integration of commercial off the shelf products that integrate with our in-house applications to ensure they meet requirements and are of high quality. The QA Analyst collaborates with internal and external technical associates such as Business Analysts and Application Developers to plan, test, and implement all software changes to ensure that products conform to the desired quality standard. The QA Analyst is also accountable for defects and ensures that systems are operational and production ready. This position reports to the Director of IT Strategic Initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Review Business Requirements, Functional Specifications, and Test Cases to understand the functional and technical requirements in order to prepare a QA test plan with test cases.
  • Hold and facilitate test plan/case reviews with cross-functional team members.
  • Develop test estimates based on the test plan.
  • Develop, document, and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts, and automated scripts.
  • Develop, document, maintain, and execute test cases in automated testing tool and interpret results.
  • Design test procedures, maintenance procedures, and configurations.
  • Execute appropriate test scripts and log defects in the defect tracking system.
  • Track and verify resolution of identified defects by working closely with IT Development teams.
  • Perform moderately complex to complex test data conditioning, regression testing, and testing validation.
  • Coordinate code deployment for assigned projects.
  • Responsible for defect management and status reporting of QA assignments to senior management and project stakeholders.
  • Provide specific guidance on defects to developers.
  • Serve as a coordinator for all testing activities for certain projects.
  • Lead formal user acceptance testing for critical projects.
  • Manage and meet deadlines created by test estimates.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Document all phases of the QA process.
  • Document QA policies and procedures.
  • Document internal audits and other QA activities.
  • Work with peers and management to develop process standards and/or enhancements to prevent re-occurrence of QA related issues.
  • Ensure all QA control functions are completely and consistently executed.
  • Participate in Test Automation tool design and development.
  • Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate such issues immediately to management.
  • Prepare reports to communicate outcomes of QA activities.
  • Identify training needs and organize training interventions to meet quality standards.
  • Generate historical analysis of QA activities.
  • Perform other job related duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience is preferred. Five to eight (5-8) years of IT QA experience. Experience with testing Web, EDI, and Oracle based applications. RDBMS experience to write SQL queries as required. Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools. Experience with automated testing is highly desired. Expertise in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, triggers, and replication. Comfortable working in a waterfall or agile SDLC. Full knowledge of test methodologies, bug life cycle, and the stages of software development. Expertise in writing clear QA test plans, test cases, test procedures, and scripts. Test lead experience highly desired.

Special Skills, Licenses and Certifications

Certifications are preferred including CSQA (Certified Software Quality Analyst), CASQ (Certified Associate in Software Quality), ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board), and Six Sigma. Knowledge of quality assurance, quality control, and defect management. Knowledge of tools, concepts, and methodologies of QA. Understanding of the various testing concepts (e.g. functional, usability, performance). Aptitude for analyzing data and business processes. Valid California drivers license and proof of current automobile insurance compliant with PHC policy are required to operate a vehicle and travel for company business.

Ability to take an independent, investigative approach. Ability to work collaboratively with others to achieve goals and objectives.

Work Environment And Physical Demands

Standard cubicle within a shared common area. Ability to use a PC with standard software packages. More than 50% of work is spent in front of a computer monitor. When required, ability to move, carry, and/or lift objects of varying size, weighing up to 25 lbs.

HIRING RANGE:

$ 91,163.24 - $ 118,514.23
