Partnership HealthPlan of California is Hiring a Regulatory Compliance Specialist Near Fairfield, CA

Overview:
Under supervision and direction of the Regulatory Compliance Supervisor, this position supports the monitoring and implementation of regulatory guidance and research of regulatory inquiries. This position is also responsible for maintaining compliance policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
  • Monitors state and federal health care regulation and related guidance, such as All Plan
    Letters and contract amendments
  • With the Regulatory Compliance Supervisor, analyzes and advises on regulatory guidance
    and researches regulatory inquiries
  • Assists in the regulatory change management process:
    • Receives, tracks, summarizes, and tracks regulatory guidance (draft and final)
    • Collaborates with departments on necessary internal regulatory, compliance and policy changes as required
    • Tracks the implementation of requirements
    • Staffs regulatory implementation workgroups
    • Reports the status of regulatory implementation to the Compliance Committee.
    • As needed, supports auditing and monitoring of compliance with regulatory guidance
  • Assists with the development and review of all policies and procedures
  • Ensures all compliance policies and procedures are revised in a timely fashion and according to current requirements:
    • Conducts a review of current policies due for revision making any required changes
    • Translates business requirements into policies and procedures that accurately and completely captures all standards and requirements (regulatory, contractual and departmental)
    • Routes policies and procedures through all appropriate managers and departments for review and revision.
    • Tracks them through until complete and approved at the appropriate committee
  • Ability to use analytical skills to help resolve complex compliance, regulatory, and as
    applicable, policy problems
  • Ability to take complex information and synthesize into an information sheet or briefing
    document

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides back-up support to the Regulatory Affairs & Complianceunit
  • Supports internal and external auditing activities
  • Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts, Communication, Business
Administration, Health Care Administration, Political Science, or related field; 2-3 years of experience in the health care field, managed care experience preferred, with knowledge of the Medi-Cal, and/or KnoxKeene and Medicare regulations; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with health plan audits preferred.

Special Skills, Licenses and
Certifications
Highly proficient in applicable business software applications including PC usage, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, typing speed of 30 wpm.

Performance Based Competencies
Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments, maintain effective filing systems, and meet deadlines. Ability to work under minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment. Diplomacy and tact in handling sensitive information regarding personnel affairs as required. Ability to interact with executives and vendors effectively, handling all assignments with efficiency. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Excellent judgment.

Work Environment And Physical Demands
Ability to use a computer keyboard and other business machines. More than 50% of work time is spent in front of a computer monitor. When required, ability to move, carry, or lift objects of varying size, weighing up to 35 lbs.

HIRING RANGE:
$33.19 - $43.14
