POSITION SUMMARY

The Employment Case Manager is responsible for assisting low-income individuals to access education and employment opportunities.As part of a team, the Employment Practitioner is responsible for coordination of services, career counseling, job search and job skills training, job placement and retention. Provide support to refugees and immigrants accessing needed services include outreach, intake assessment, case-management, advocacy, and referral. Work collaboratively with providers to ensure continuity of services. Maintain monthly records, participant files, and accurate reports on achievement of planned outcomes.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Conduct outreach with clients, case managers, employers, and community providers.

2. Promote and build quality client case load through recruitment and referral from the communities.

3. Conduct comprehensive assessment of clients’ training and employment needs to ensure contractual compliance and ensure that monthly report is done in a timely manner.

4. Provide job development, placement and retention services to job seekers including arranging for career exploration/exposure, job matching, and working with employers and new employees to problem solve.

5. Educate job seekers about the Virtual Hiring Hall online job portal and assist job seekers to register and conduct job search through the website.

6. Provide career counseling, job search, and job skills training.

7. Conduct workshops and skills trainings to prepare refugee and immigrant clients for job search and employment.

8. Assist clients with employment application, job search, resume preparation, and job interviews.

9. Assist clients with job placement and job retention.

10. Provide job leads, ensure clients participation and progress is reported in a timely manner.

11. Identify intern sites and place clients in the sites to complete their training certification hours.

12. Provide support services and advocate on behalf of clients so they can successfully complete their training.

13. Assist with job placement and job retention including resolving crisis that may arise from work/internship sites.

14. Based on clients training needs and career exploration develop training plans that lead to career paths with wage progression opportunities and increased towards client’s self-sufficiency.

15. Assist and/or enroll clients into ESL and vocational training classes to increase employment possibilities and job retention.

16. Provide intensive case management that leads to clients’ employability and meeting outcome.

17. Maintain weekly contact with clients during their training to support and resolve barriers.

18. Place on average 3-5 job seekers into jobs each month.

19. Maintain monthly contact with clients during their employment period to ensure their continued employment by utilizing the retention services program.

20. Ensure appropriate job placement by maintaining regular follow-up contacts with clients and employers.

21. Provide crisis intervention and assist clients with support services to ensure successful employment retention.

22. Track employment opportunities include union-represented jobs in King County and provide clients with information and referrals to job openings.

23. Complete and submit all required reports in a timely, quality, and accurate manner.

24. Participate in staff meetings and other related training.

25. Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
