PARTNERS in Employment, Inc. is Hiring an Employment Case Manager (Bilingual in English and Afghan Languages) Near SeaTac, WA

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Employment Practitioner is responsible for assisting low-income individual to access education and employment opportunities.As part of a team, the Employment Practitioner is responsible for coordination of services, career counseling, job search and job skills training, job placement and retention. The Employment Practitioner will provide support to refugees and immigrants accessing needed services including outreach, intake assessment, case-management, advocacy, and referral. In addition, they will work collaboratively with providers to ensure continuity of services. The Employment Practitioner will maintain monthly records, participant files, and accurate reports of services.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Conduct outreach with clients, employers, and community providers.

· Promote and build quality client case load through recruitment and referral.

· Conduct comprehensive assessment of clients’ training and employment needs to ensure contractual compliance.

· Provide job development, placement and retention services to job seekers including arranging for career exploration/exposure, job matching, and working with employers and new employees to problem solve.

· Provide career counseling, job search, and job skills training.

· Conduct workshops and skills trainings to prepare refugee and immigrant clients for job search and employment.

· Assist clients with employment application, job search, resume preparation, and job interviews.

· Provide job leads, ensure clients participation and progress is reported in timely manner.

· Identify training opportunities and connect clients.

· Act as an advocate on behalf of clients so they can access services.

· Assist with job placement and job retention including resolving crisis that may arise from work/intern sites.

· Based on clients training needs and career exploration, develop training plans that lead to career paths with wage progression opportunities and increased towards client’s self-sufficiency.

· Based on client assessment, enroll clients into ESL and/or vocational training classes to increase employment success and job retention.

· Assists clients to remove their employment barriers.

· Maintain weekly contacts with clients during their job search activity or training to support and resolve barriers

· Maintain monthly contact with clients during their employment period to ensure their continued employment by utilizing the retention services program per contract requirements

· Ensure appropriate job placement by maintaining regular follow-up contacts with clients and employers

· Provide crisis intervention and assist clients with support services to ensure successful employment retention

· Track employment opportunities in King County

· Complete and submit all required paperwork in a timely, quality, and accurate manner

· Track and collect job placement data and providing that data to the supervisor on monthly basis

· Participate in staff meetings and other related trainings

· Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Associate degree and 2 years professional experience in employer and/or vocational training field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

· Fluency in English and one of these languages: Pashto, Dari, or Farsi

· Excellent organizational, outreach and recruitment skills

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team

· Demonstrated computer skills including knowledge of Excel, word processing and email programs

· Knowledge of local market trends, employment and training services, and the welfare system

· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with individuals from a wide range of cultural backgrounds

· Must have own transportation, a valid Washington state driver’s license, and ability to travel to multiple sites on a regular basis

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Knowledge of reporting databases

· Experience working with low English-speaking refugees and immigrants in Employment Services

· Extensive knowledge of community resources and employment and training resources

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
