As a member of the Division of Rheumatology, Immunology, and Immunity, the research assistant will work with the Principal Investigator to conduct chart reviews, analyze data, and support the study team in accordance with specific guidelines and protocols established for the study.
1. Conducts chart reviews for a broad range of medical conditions, primarily using electronic health records.
2. Summarizes data and present chart review results to Principal Investigator and study team.
3. Coordinates and manages chart review labels for study team
4. Responsible for maintaining project adherence to all applicable policies and procedures for research study and in accordance with Institutional Review Board (IRB) requirements.
5. Other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator.
1. Bachelor's degree and minimum of one year of work experience.
2. Prior experience in medical record review is required.
3. Proficiency in writing; excellent verbal and written communication.
4. Experience working with MS SQL Server, Excel and ACCESS
5. No specific license/certification or registration is required.
Skills:
1. Keyboard/typing skills for data entry.
2. Must have interpersonal skills to interact effectively with persons with chronic disease in order to gain their cooperation in the research projects and allay apprehensions.
3. Must be able to prioritize and organize work responsibilities in order to meet deadlines so as not to hamper the progress of the studies.
4. Must possess integrity to maintain confidentiality.
5. Must demonstrate accuracy in recording data.
6. Must be able to make independent judgments under general supervision for the above mentioned job duties and responsibilities.
7. Knowledge of medical and analytical terminology.
