Research Assistant I BWH Sleep Medicine

General Summary/ Overview Statement
The Research Assistant (RA) will support various projects within the Program in Sleep Medicine Epidemiology and Sleep and Cardiovascular Medicine within the Division of Sleep and Circadian Disorders at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The RA will work under the general supervision of the Project Manager and Principal Investigator, and following established policies and procedures for research studies, will assist with a variety of activities: recruiting and evaluating eligibility of individuals for participation in research and clinical trials of sleep disorders; obtaining informed consent, ensuring all regulatory requirements are met; collecting and organizing subject data; scheduling participants for study visits, performing clinical research tests; assists with data processing and helps maintain databases and performs data entry; assists with communications to study participants and investigators.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
1. Assists with research study and clinical trials activities as per study guidelines and protocols.
Performs all other duties, as required.
Qualifications
BS or BA degree required.
New graduate with relevant course or project work.
One year of experience preferred.
Working knowledge and proficiency with the following computer software preferred: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel) and REDCap.
Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants.
Good oral and written communication skills.
General computer knowledge (e.g., data entry, MS Windows)
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
Careful attention to detail.
Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect when interacting with research subjects and staff.
Spanish language skills preferred.
Experience working with individuals from a wide range of experiences is preferred.
Work can be performed remotely or in a hybrid role. Recruitment activities can take place in a clinic, sleep laboratory, or other setting. Occasional intense periods of work can be associated with scientific deadlines. Evening work may be required for this position.
