This position will be responsible managing the entire construction process from concept, through pre-construction and design, and ultimately managing the general contractor building the project in the field. This includes creating budgets and schedules, completing constructability and design reviews, managing outside contractors and design consultants, communicating with towns and tenants, and working alongside internal departments (Leasing, Development, Design Studio, Operations) to help support their efforts of the development process.

Immediate Opportunity/Initial Success

The Construction Project Manager will work through design and constructability issues and best practices with the design team, consultants, and contractors and will be expected to work in a collaborative team environment with both internal and external stakeholders.

Potential for Growth/Longer Term Success

There is an opportunity for this position to grow into a leadership role within the team as well as the ability to train and mentors to less experienced staff. Construction Project Managers who continue to be successful will be provided the opportunity to work on more complex and challenging projects over time. Requirements

Experience: We are looking for candidates with a bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or Architecture with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience. Ideal candidates will be thoroughly knowledgeable in all aspects of construction management and will have previously managed projects for a general contractor or developer. Experience creating construction estimates and project schedules required. We are looking for Project Managers that have demonstrated the ability to deliver quality work and consistently meet project deadlines.

Passion: Candidates who are passionate about the industry, go the "extra" mile, constantly ask questions and think outside the box for solutions to complex construction challenges.

Communication: Candidates who are strong communicators and who can interact with internal/external clients and effectively communicate in challenging situations, while simultaneously being able to influence others.

Team Player: WS Development is a vertically integrated firm, and the Construction Project Manager will work hand-in hand with Development, Leasing, Design Studio, Accounting and Operations through various phases of each project.
